A mechanism for changing the position of impeller blades, particularly in water turbines, in which the levers of the blades are connected with the sliding element characterised in that the support shaft (4) of the impeller passes through a hallow screw (6) with a nut (5), which are placed on bearings on it, and which constitute the sliding element, where on the screw (6), there are mounted at least two gear wheels (7) of a transmission gear whose intermediate shaft (8) is driven by a gear wheel (9) mounted on the shaft (4) outside the screw (6).<IMAGE>
