PURPOSE:To prevent a drop in a deodorizing capacity accompanying draft by carrying a deodorizing catalyst on a porous material carrier made of a good conductive ceramic-contained material and supplying electric power to the carrier in conformity with the amount of draft in the titled device, such a domestic oven grille ranges. CONSTITUTION:Deodorizing catalysts 15 of a deodorizing device 10 forms a carrier by applying an active alumina-made wash coat on a honeycomb made of conductive ceramics comprising 80wt.% of silicon carbide, 10wt.% of silicon dioxide and 10wt.% of aluminum dioxide where platinum is arranged to adhere to the carrier. The deodorizing device 10 is incorporated into an exhaust duct 9 and electric power is supplied to the carrier from a pair of electric power introduction terminals 16 by way of an electric power introduction board 18, thereby forcing the carrier to generate heat by its self. The amount of power at that time is controlled so that it may be equivalent to the draft of processed gas. It is, therefore, possible to minimize a drop in a deodorizing performance induced by a temperature drop of a deodorizing catalyst 15 which is generated when the processed gas at a lower temperature is drafted to the deodorizing catalyst 15 soon after the start of service. |
