<p>PURPOSE: To provide a pipe joint designed to be capable of passing the stricter test developed recently for such type of mechanical joints. CONSTITUTION: A connector of a connection having an integral or substantially integral surface for a pipe casing is characterized by shoulders 3, 4 of right angle or substantially right angle (including slight inverted angle smaller than 5 degrees within the range of allowable manufacture error), not sealing high outer pressure or inner pressure, arranged in the utmost outer region of the connector. A adjacent radial press-fit seals 5, 6 are designed to seal with respect to extrusion pressure but not the high clearance pressure between screw threads of a box 1 and a pin. The connectors are retained by each other in a hooked screw thread shape, maintaining the mechanical integrality of the joint when clearance pressure passes between screw threads 7, 8 of the pin and the box.</p> |
