PURPOSE: To join, in a sealed manner, two smooth pipes of identical diameter arranged end to end. CONSTITUTION: A bush 1 comprising a longitudinal slot 2 having two radial lips surrounds the opposite ends of two pipes and tightly clamps the radial lips with a side screw or bolt 7. The bush 1 has two frustum ends positioned at both ends of a cylindrical central portion 1a mounted between the joining portions of the two pipes. Each lip 3 of the longitudinal slot 2 comprises at least one rigid element extending between the lip and the frustum end of the bush corresponding thereto.
