PURPOSE: To provide a method of manufacturing a prosthesis relating to a structure of an intracorporeal bone by obtaining contours of the inside and outside surfaces of the bone with the use of CT scan data corresponding to a radiation density of the bone structure. CONSTITUTION: A density of an discontinuity point of a bone structure and the gradient of the density are compared with a threshold density and a threshold density gradient so as to selects a series of points for formulating a temporary outer contour. Contour shape coefficients are introduced for each temporary contour so as to select a temporary contour having a maximum contour shape coefficient, and small variation in the contour periphery. From contour data for the surface of a bone which are used to prepare a graphic mode, a group of digital data is produced for obtaining the surface model exhibiting the graphic model. A group of numerical control machine instructions are issued so as to manufacture a prosthesis. |
