PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer material superior in running properties by a method wherein a silicone content of a pecific per cent is incorporated in a layer, which is mainly composed of a wax composition and laminated on at least one surface of a polyester film, and long and narrow projections are formed on the surface of the layer. CONSTITUTION:On a surface of a polyester film before a crystalline orientation is completed, a layer mainly composed of a petroleum or vegetable wax which can be dissolved, emusified, or suspended in water is applied, thereafter being dried, oriented, and thermally treated to complete crystallization. In addition, 1-20wt.% silicone content made of a microemulsion having an average particle diameter of 0.1mum or less is incorporated in the layer, and 20 or more projections having a length/width ratio of 3 or more are formed per 100mum on the surface. Furthermore, an oil substance which can be dissolved, emusified, or suspended in water is incorporated in the layer with a 10/1-1/1 wax composition/oil substance weight ratio. At this time, a dynamic friction index of a laminate surface with a stainless ball at 25 deg.C and 65% Rh is determined to be 0.15 or less. |
