PURPOSE:To perform a small-scale perfusion culture over a long period by introducing a medium and seed cells into a culture tank rotatable in horizontal plane and repeating the cycle of cultivation, centrifugal separation, extraction of nutrient and suspension of cell. CONSTITUTION:A culture liquid 4 and cells 5 are introduced into a culture tank 1 rotatable in horizontal plane and subjected to repetition of cycle consisting of cultivation, centrifugal separation, extraction of nutrient and suspension of cell. The culture tank is provided with a stirring blade 2 having vertically movable blade end, a pipe 10 for extracting the supernatant, a pipe 8 for supplying oxygen and a pipe 11 for supplying the medium. Volume efficiency can be improved by this process.
