PURPOSE:To freely select and set the width of a data bus and to use an inexpensive memory by supplying values of M-bit width and N-bit width to a data converting means and indicating a conversion procedure. CONSTITUTION:A DSP 3 generates plural musical sounds by time division according to microprograms stored in a microprogram memory 7. When, for example, 32-bit signal processing is performed for those musical sounds, 32-bit data are written as 8-bit data in a data RAM 14, used as a delay memory, by time division. When the stored data are read out, the divided 8-bit data are read in sequence and inputted as the 32-bit data. Addresses of the data RAM 14 are generated by a data memory address control part 10 at this time and a data R/W control part 11 controls the data transfer between the DSP 3 and data RAM 14. |
