PURPOSE:To produce the subject medium capable of recording and erasing information at a high speed by using a laser beam and excellent in repeating characteristics, and suitable in a mass-productivity. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording layer composed of mixture of a phase transition recording material whose volume ratio in a recording layer is less than 30%, with an inorganic dielectric whose optical refractive index to a light for reproducing the information is more than 3, is provided on a transparent substrate. A direct current spattering is carried out by using mixture of the phase transition recording medium with the inorganic dielectric as a target, so that the optical recording layer is formed on the transparent substrate. |
