PURPOSE:To suppress the peeling of a sealing material by forming recessed parts on the sealing material side of color filters provided in the sealing material part. CONSTITUTION:Color filters FIL consisting of an org. material or black matrices BM are provided between an upper transparent substrate SUB 2 and the sealing material SL. The recessed parts DT are provided on the sealing material SL side of the color filters FIL or the black matrices BM. The recessed parts DT are formed on the color filters FIL or black matrices BM provided in the sealing part SL in such a case. Since the sealing material SL enters the recessed parts DT, the adhesive area of the sealing material SL can be widened and, therefore, the strength of adhesion of the sealing material SL can be increased. Then, the peeling of the sealing material SL is suppressed and the yield and reliability are improved. |
