<p>PURPOSE:To improve the picture quality by reproducing a video/control signal from a first/second track group by a first/second magnetic head and moving the second magnetic head along the second track. CONSTITUTION:A control head driving device 25 moves a control head 6 along a control track 28 in directions of arrows 29 and 30 based on the command of a microcomputer 8 during special reproducing. The computer 8 moves the head 6 and counts the number of pulses of a running control signal 3 to discriminate the recording mode of the signal recorded on a magnetic tape 1. The video signal is recorded on the first track at intervals preliminarily set in accordance with this recording mode, and the control signal is written in the second track. First and second magnetic heads reproduce signals from first and second tracks respectively. Since the speed is optimized because a driving device 25 runs or stops the tape 1 in the lengthwise direction at this time, a good picture quality is obtained.</p> |
