PURPOSE:To display an easy-to-see map matching a travel speed without making a driver get confused by displaying no detailed map during a travel on at least a driveway at higher than a specific speed. CONSTITUTION:The on-vehicle navigation system which has a road network storage means 2 and current position detecting means 3-5 and displays a current position on a road map is provided with a detailed map display restriction part 30 which displays no detailed map while the vehicle travels on the driveway above the specific speed. Therefore, when the vehicle travels on the driveway below the specific speed and when the vehicle does not travel on the driveway, the travel restriction of a detailed map is reset. Consequently, a map having a range corresponding to the travel speed of the vehicle traveling on the driveway is displayed and the driver can make a safe drive without being burdened. |
