MAGNETIC TONER, MAGNETIC DEVELOPER, DEVICE UNIT, IMAGE FORMING DEVICE AND FACSIMILE EQUIPMENT

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic toner with which toner images excellent in environmental stability and having high image density can be formed and excellent dot reproducibility can be obtained by incorporating magnetic iron oxides having a specified distribution of silicon compds. CONSTITUTION:This magnetic toner contains at least a binder resin and magnetic iron oxide and has <=13.5mum weight mean average particle size and <=50wt.% of magnetic toner particles having >=12.7mum particle size. The magnetic iron oxide contains 0.5-4wt.% silicon element to iron element as the reference, and shows the relation of (B/A)X100=44 to 84 (%), wherein A is the total amt. of silicon element in the magnetic iron oxide and B is the amt. of silicon element in which the proportion of dissolving iron element is to 20wt.%. Further, it shows the relation of (C/A)X100=10 to 55 (%), wherein C is the amt. of silicon element present in the surface of the iron oxide particles.
