PURPOSE:To provide a battery of high capacity and high energy density by eliminating damage of an electrode when it is inserted into a jacket can, and by facilitating the insertion. CONSTITUTION:An insulating plate 6 is attached to the end surface of the side of an electrode body 1 that is to be inserted into a jacket can 2 of a battery, for which base elements such as a positive electrode 3, a negative electrode 4, and a separator 5 are layered or wound in. Since the electrode body is free from damage when it is inserted into the jacket can, the number of layers of electrode body is increased, and a battery of high energy density can thus be provided. |
