Compensating device for lifting or tilting closures of the door or window type, employing at least one reversible ball screw system in combination with at least one jack. The compensating device for closures of the door or window type is of the type employing a winding drum (2) onto which is fitted a cable (3) whose free end is integrally attached to a point for manoeuvring the closure, characterised in that the shaft (1) of the said drum (2) is integrally attached to a "screw-nut" device, called a reversible "ball screw" system, fitted in a "leading screw" form, that is to say that the nut (13) is guided in translation, the screw (10) is immobilised in translation but guided in rotation, the rotation of the screw (10) determines a translation of the nut (13), the nut (13) is fitted integrally attached to the rod (19) of at least one compensating jack (20).
