PURPOSE:To construct the personal computer provided with a mechanism which secures the contents of a memory and can execute safely write, in the case a flash EEPROM is used as a fundamental input/output control system (BIOS) memory. CONSTITUTION:The personal computer is provided with a flash EEPROM 1 which becomes a BIOS memory of the personal computer, a register 2 whose access range is set, at the time of changing the contents of this ROM 1, and a memory access control circuit 1A for switching at least a part of a memory space of the ROM 1 by an output of the register 2 and executing write, and by switching and writing a part or the whole of the memory by the contents of the register 2, generation of trouble in the course of rewriting the contents of the BIOS is avoided. |
