Method for obtaining a funeral urn (4) and corresponding funeral memorial, characterised in that the following series of machinings are carried out starting from a block of parallelepipedal shape, for example a slab of natural or synthetic stone: - This block is bored with at least one hole (6) of desired diameter, particularly with the aid of a crown saw (cylinder saw, hole saw) in order to obtain at least one core (1) and a slab of stone equipped with at least one bore (6). - A certain number of thin round washers (2) are cut from the core (1). - The remaining length of the core is bored so as to obtain a piece of cylindrical tubular shape (3). - The said tubular piece is cut up into several cylindrical elements of dimensions corresponding to the desired height of the urn (4). - The washers (2) previously cut off are used as base and lid of the funeral urn, the lid and the base are preferably bonded on the ends of the urn. <IMAGE>
