<p>PURPOSE:To obtain such a carrier that gives a quick build-up of electrification and hardly causes contamination due to the toner or additives, peeling of coating layers, or reduction of electrification when the carrier is used for a long period by providing a releasing coating layer on a specified intermediate layer. CONSTITUTION:The carrier has a two-layer structure comprising an intermediate layer having triboelectric controlling function and a releasing coating layer. The intermediate layer is made of a material which gives negative charge to the toner, and has pereferably, an amino group-contg. silane coupling agent and does not dissolve in an org. solvent used for the formation of the releasing coating layer. For example, it is preferable to use trifunctional nitrogen-contg. silane coupling agent which forms three-dimensional net structure by dehydration condensation and becomes soluble in a solvent. Further, the intermediate layer is preferably formed to have 5-75ppm nitrogen atom to the weight of the core material, more preferably 10-55ppm.</p> |
