PURPOSE:To lighten a burden of processing on a host computer required for detection of a faulty transponder, by reading out a record of the result of determination of communication from an internal memory of an interrogator, for each transponder, and by transmitting it to the host computer when it is necessary. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 10 of an interrogator 1 registers the number specified for each transponder 2 in a number setting circuit 16 to be stored therein. Every time when determination of communication for determining the presence or absence of a response of the transponder 2 to a call from the interrogator 1 and the presence or absence of a response error and communication with the transponder 2 are executed, the microcomputer updates the result of determination of communication for the discrete registered number of the transponder 2 on the other side and makes a display unit 17 display the content thereof. According to an instruction from a host computer 3, the computer 10 reads out the content of the result of communication corresponding to each transponder 2 from the display unit 17 and transmits it to a computer 3 through an interface circuit 15. On the other hand, a microcomputer 20 on the transponder 2 side stores in an internal memory the specified registered number transmitted through the interrogator 1. When a faulty transponder exists, a record in the memory is read out and the transponder can be detected immediately. |
