Corrosion-resistant pipe consisting of a protective coating (I) (16) contg. chromate and phosphate applied to the inner surface of a steel pipe (10,12) the novelty being that (I) contains 30-50 wt.% binder (II) plus 70-50 t.% metallic filler (III), whereby the compsn. of (II) is 3-40 wt.% chromate and 97-60 wt.% phosphate, and (III) consists of pure Al, Cr, Mg, Zn, Ti or Cd, or alloys having particle size 5-100 mm. dia., pref. 30 +/- 5 mm. dia. Binder (II) pref. contains 1-10 wt.% TiO2 (dia. 0.1-5 mm.), 5-15 wt.% MgO and 0.1-5 wt.% Al2O3 and/or SiO2, relative to total mass. Metal particles in the filler (III) are mfd. by spraying the metal into an inert gas atmos. The protective coating (I) 25-250 mm. thick is applied to a high-tensile steel pipe wall composed pref. of one of the following: CMnNbVMo-steel, CMnNbMo-steel, CMnNbTi-steel and CMnNbV-steel. (I) also contains 0.1-5 wt.% Cd and/or Mo ions, relative to total mass of coating. ADVANTAGE - The protective layer exhibits good thermal stability between -183 and +650 deg.C, ductility and electrical conductivity, and subsequent organic and inorganic coatings can be applied.
