A flat heater plate with an internal flexible worm-shaped heater element has an injection or compression moulded or cast one-piece body of any desired shape and this completely envelopes the elements concerned; it is preferably made of polymer-concrete. A one-piece sheet (1) of e.g. polymer-concrete contains the heater element (2). It has recess (3) with no conductor and where a thermostat (4) plus external leads are fitted; it (3) can also have a safety lamp (5). Fixing points (7) are arranged where required. The air gap between the thermostat (4) and heater element (1) improves the response and action of the thermostat. The recess (3) is covered over by a plate which thus locks the thermostat etc. in position. A temp. control can also be located e.g. at the centre of the plate. The overall shape and colour of the heater can be made decorative if desired. It is lighter in weight than natural stone. ADVANTAGE - The product can be made easily in any shape and it has a high thermal capacity.
