Described is a method of producing neutral-tasting pastes, suitable for use in the manufacture of toothpaste for instance, of alkyl ether sulphates in glycerin by distilling off water from mixtures of aqueous alkyl ether sulphate pastes and glycerin and passing steam through the mixture thus obtained.
