Protective tube is held at one end in a holder and surrounds an O2-ion conducting tubular solid electrolyte. The tube is made of electrically conducting material and contacts an outer electrode to the electrolyte. The protective tube (13) is made of electrically conducting ceramic material and is glued to the holder (10). A contact (17) contg. a spring-elastic element (19) is arranged betwen the holder (10) and the tube (13). The protective tube (13) is pref. made of Si-SiC material. ADVANTAGE - The service life of the probe is increased.
