A press for squeezing out liquid from agricultural and chemical materials has a cylinder whose interior is divided into a pressurising chamber and working chamber by an elastic membrane. Along the fastening line of the membrane is welded a supporting section (8) which forms a crevice (10) in which the edge (11) of the membrane (2) can be clamped and sealed against the cylinder wall (1) by an inflatable tube (17). The tube is contained in a U-section strip (13) whose inner side leg (19) traps the beaded edge (11, 12) of the membrane against the bottom (9) of the crevice. The tube (17) is prevented from dropping out of the crevice by a projection (14) welded to the base of the strip (13) and abutting against a ledge (15) on the edge of the supporting section (8). ADVANTAGE - Membrane is effectively sealed and cannot pull out of crevice.
