摘要 The magnetic recording material has a non magnetic substrate onto which a layer of magnetic powder is deposited in a binding agent mix. The magnetic particles each consist of a ferrite core onto which is formed a carbon based layer. The particles are subjected to heat treatment by heating in a non oxidising atmosphere of an inert gas, such as nitrogen, at a temperature of 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. The generated iron carbide material has a high saturation magnetisation. This is mixed with iron cyanide and sulphur, and is reduced over a long period. ADVANTAGE - Higher magnetic density material with high signal to noise ratio.
