A drying arrangement includes a transport device 7 which uses suction or magnetism to produce an attractive force via which containers such as can bodies 2 can be picked up by their bottom walls after they have come out of a washing station, and carried with their open ends down, over nozzles 13, 17 which respectively suction water in liquid form from the containers and use hot air to dry the remaining water. Beverage can bodies 2 wet with rinse water may be passed over alternate suction nozzles 13 and blowing nozzles 17, which both apply hot air to the outer surfaces of the can bodies and to their insides, where it causes water to evaporate and also drives droplets to their lower edges for removal by a subsequent suction nozzle 13. <IMAGE> |
