PURPOSE:To prevent the application of grinding force and other unnatural force to laver and improve cutting yield by passing a mixture of laver and water through a perforated plate in the course of transfer with a pump and cutting with a rotary knife. CONSTITUTION:A pulley 22 is driven to rotate a rotary shaft 10 and, at the same time, a mixture of seawater and laver is transferred in the direction of the arrow 23 with a pump and passed through through-holes 7 of a perforated plate 9 in the direction of the arrow 24 and cut with a rotary knife 12. Since the rotary knife cuts the laver by shearing action between the knife and the front edge of the through-hole 7, it does not give a grinding action to the laver. The laver cut by the above process is forwarded in a cylindrical housing 1 in the direction of the arrow 25, introduced into another perforated plate 8 and again cut with a rotary knife 11. The cut laver is discharged into a front housing 2 as shown by the arrow 26 and sent to the subsequent step from the delivery port 4 as shown by the arrow 27. |
