PURPOSE:To obtain a highly light-fast image on a recorded image without a laminated film by thermally treating an image-receiving layer where an image is thermally transfer-recorded using dye at higher temperature than the melting point of the dye. CONSTITUTION:An image-receiving medium 1 has an image-receiving layer 3 formed on a base 2, and a transfer element 4 having a coloring material layer 6 on a base 5 and the image-receiving medium 1 are pressed between a thermal head 7 and a platen 6. In this state, an image is recorded in the image-receiving layer 3 by applying a recording signal to the thermal head, and causing the dye of the coloring material layer 6 to migrate the image-receiving layer thermally. Next, the image-receiving medium 1 having the image-receiving layer 3 where an image is recorded is thermally treated by allowing the medium 1 to pass through an area between a thermal silicone rubber coated roll 9 and a heating roll 10. In the case the transfer element 4 has coloring material layers formed on the base, and an image is thermally transfer- recorded on the same surface of the image-receiving layer 3 in the image-receiving medium 1 using the coloring material layers, the image-receiving layer is thermally treated after the first color is recorded on the image-receiving layer using a different color, or the image-receiving layer can be thermally treated after the second, third or final color is recorded. |
