PURPOSE:To enable a judgment processing time of conforming/non-conformity of an appearance shape of a welding bead to be reduced drastically. CONSTITUTION:A slit-shaped laser beam L2 which is emitted from a light- projection means 31 to a welding bead is picked up by an image pick-up means 41, only a part of the slit-shaped light with a highest luminance out of the images which are picked up is extracted for each scanning by an image preprocessing means 61, and a characteristic value of a welding bead 4 is obtained based on a signal from the image preprocessing means 61. Then, the characteristic value of the welding bead 41 is compared with a preset reference value, thus enabling conformity/non-conformity of the welding bead to be judged. |
