PURPOSE: To provide a modified sheet stacking system for laminating collectively and editing by feeding continuously thin sheets such as copying sheets, collecting them and aligning them by an edge alignment system or a sheet position registering system. CONSTITUTION: In a sheet stacking system 10 assisting the feed position registration of sheets on a topmost layer by a scuffer roller 22 or the like and a buckle suppressor baffle or a key 26 floating above the sheet stack by working jointly the scuffer roller, an integral sheet stopping lip 33a extending downwardly from the upper section of the sheet stack along the one edge of the sheet stack is provided so as to carry out the registration 30 of the sheet stack edge by the floating baffle or the key. A plurality of mode functions for preventing the edge climbing of incoming sheets to a registration edge 32 are provided.
