12 583 A filter apparatus is equipped with easily releasable coupling ends (28) of the inlet and outlet connection pieces (27) respectively, and the top wall (11) carrying the inlet and outlet connection pieces is connected unreleasably to the adjoining peripheral wall of the filter housing. For maintenance or cleaning, the filter apparatus is exchanged as a self-contained unit. Since the filter housing itself is not separable in operational terms and there are therefore no sensitive separable seals between housing parts, the housing cross-section can be of any form and therefore especially cuboid for the most effective possible utilization of space (Figure 1). |
