<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a vehicle kind judgement device capable of accurately judging the vehicle kind without affected by the external situations such as the distance between an invading vehicle and a vibration sensor, the velocity of the vehicle and the transmission loss coefficient of the soil characteristics of the ground. CONSTITUTION:A vibration sensor 4 detects the vibration wave 30 from a vehicle 1 invading into a surveying area and send the sensor output 5 to a transmitter 13. The transmitter 13 extracts the time variation of the vibration level from the vibration data obtained from the sensor output 5. By using the extracted time variation data, a vehicle kind judgement circuit 13a judges whether the invading vehicle 1 is a caterpillar car or a wheel car from the relation of variation between the vibration levels at the closet point of the invading vehicle 1 to the vibration sensor 4 and at the time elapsed for a predetermined time after passing the closest point.</p> |
