<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts and simplify the constitution and avoid the oversizing of an engine, in an object which is equipped, at the cam shafts of right and left banks, with actuators for variable valve timing. CONSTITUTION:An upward flange 23 for mounting a control valve is made between the V banks of a cylinder block 1, and hydraulic passages 25 and 26 directed to each bank or a oil supply passage 27 leading to the hydraulic source open in the flange face. A hydraulic control valve 33 for changing over the continuity condition of each passage is attached to this flange 23, and the actuators for the timing of the variable valves of the right and left banks are changed over with a single hydraulic control valve 33.</p> |
