PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of appearance caused by the partial extinction generated in the peripheral edge part of the metallized layer provided on a magnetic recording medium by longterm use. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal magnetic recording medium composed of a laminate wherein a magnetic recording layer 2 (Ba ferrite), a trimming layer 3 [silver (Al) ink], an undercoat layer 4 (vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer), a metal (tin) vapor deposition layer 5 and a topcoat layer 6 (polyvinyl butyral/cellosolve acetate/isocyanate type curing agent) are provided to the surface of a base material layer 1 (PET), the trimming layer 3 (Al) is present at least in the peripheral edge part of the medium between the magnetic recording layer 2 and the undercoat layer 4. |
