PURPOSE:To facilitate the engagement/breaking away of a tongue member with/from a buckle while the safety of a riding member is being realized. CONSTITUTION:A seat belt device is made up of a buckle 5 that is standingly provided from a position adjacent to a floor and has a built-in release button 4, a webbing 6 whose end portion is fixed at a vehicle room side and a tongue member 20 that is insertably furnished at the webbing 6 and engageable with the buckle 5, and the tongue member 20 is composed of a tongue plate 21 engaged with the buckle 5, a retaining member 22 retaining the tongue plate 21 and a slide member 23 that can move the retaining member 22 up and down and at the same time push-press the release button 4 of the buckle 5 in a release direction. |
