A lid 14 is mounted on a casing 10 containing a folded air bag 12 by way of an attaching member 22 with a tear line 38 which cleaves to permit opening of the lid on deployment of the bag. A protrusion 42 on the casing engages a step 40 on the attaching member, for inhibiting the case connecting portion from moving in the forward direction of the casing and thus ensuring that breaking stresses are concentrated at the tear line. <IMAGE> |
