PURPOSE:To prevent foreign matter from entering between sliding surfaces by positioning the upper end surface of a seal portion substantially on the same plane as the sliding surface and surrounding the sliding surface with the seal portion. CONSTITUTION:An elastic member 20 is formed by a sliding surface forming steel plate 30, a deformation restraining steel plate 32, an elastic rubber deformation layer 34 and a unflat absorbing layer 36. The upper end surface of a seal portion 22 is positioned substantially on the same plane as a sliding surface 24, and the periphery of the sliding surface 24 is surrounded with the seal portion 22 to form a sliding and elastic lower side member 10. The sliding surface 24 of the lower shoe, member 10 comes into contact with the sliding surface of a lower member fitted to the upper structure of a bridge, and the seal portion 22 comes into contact with the sliding surface of the lower shoe member so that foreign matter is prevented from entering between the sliding surfaces. |
