PURPOSE:To realize the portable radio equipment, the ESN (electric serial number) transfer system and the ESN transfer equipment which warrants prevention of duplicate provision of the ESN and ensuring and facilitating the maintenance and management. CONSTITUTION:The ESN stored in an EEPROM 14a of a portable radio equipment 1a is transferred to an EEPROM 14b of a portable radio equipment 10b via an ESN transmission equipment 90. An MSN is stored in the EEPROMs 14a, 14b. When a panel with the EEPROM 14a mounted thereon is replaced, only the ESN is transferred to an EEPROM 14b of a new panel. When the transfer of the ESN is finished, the ESN of the EEPROM 14a of the replaced panel is rewritten into data whose specific part such as a manufacturer ID number is 'not correct'. The ESN whose specific part is 'not correct' is not transferred. The ESN transfer equipment 90 is connected to external connectors 2a, 2b provided to portable radio equipments 10a, 10b to implement ESN transfer.
