PURPOSE: To obtain improved picture quality by applying band compression of HDTV, adaptive modulation, scrambling, DSB-QM, and the encoding system. CONSTITUTION: The band compression of HDTV that utilizes a three-dimensional subband codeless system, adaptive modulation by an adaptive modulation part 22 for suppressing channel noise and ghost, transmission gamma processing by a transmission gamma processing part 28, and scrambling by a scrambler 42 are applied in conformity with the theory and ideal of a system proposed by MIT as to the encoding system for HDTV of a ground broadcasting system and its system. Further, DSB-QM for improving the efficiency of a transmission channel and an encoding system which encodes a video signal of high picture quality and a sound signal of high quality by utilizing data under technology are applied. Consequently, picture quality which is improved more than the system proposed by MIT can be obtained. |
