<p>PURPOSE:To provide the image forming method which does not generate developer coating unevenness on a developer carrying member over a long period of time under low humidity and can form an image having a high image density without degrading the density. CONSTITUTION:This image forming method consists in transporting the developer at the thickness controlled to the thickness smaller than a specific spacing on the developer carrying member 4 by a developer layer regulating member 11 and developing the image while applying alternating electric fields thereto. The developer of this method is the developer formed by sticking inorg. powder having the ternary amino group expressed by formula (I) on the surface and having >=10 hydrophobing degree in a test for the degree of wetting with water to the surface of toner particles consisting of at least a charge control agent, a magnetic material having >=5% hydrophobing rate and a binder resin. The image forming method consists in forming rugged shapes by plural spherical traces and dents for depositing the developer on the surface of the developer carrying member 4.
