The magnetic recording medium comprises the magnetic layer onto the one surface of the non-magnetic base film forming by disporsing the strong magnetic powder within the binding agent, and the back-coating layer onto the other surface of the base film. The back-coating layr is prepd. by mixing and dispersing the filler comprising 100 pts. of carbon black and 5-20 wt. pts. of calcium carbonate to be surface-treated with fatty acid, and 0.5-5 wt. pts. of aluminium based coupling agent into the binder comprising phenoxy resin and polyurethane resin. The wt. ratio of the binder to the filler is 30:70 - 60:40.
