PURPOSE:To automatically compensate the rotational distortion of an image by controlling the reading of image information stored in a storage means based upon a compensation value calculated from the rotational distortion of previously set ideal image information for the stored image information and then correcting the rotational distortion. CONSTITUTION:Image information obtained by executing the reading scanning of an original with an image by a reading means 3 and converting the read contents is stored in a storage means 51. An operation control means finds out the rotational distortion of ideal image information for the image information stored in the means 51 and calculates a compensation value for the image information stored in the means 51 based upon the rotational distortion. A compensation processing means 53 controls the reading of the image information stored in the means 51 and compensates the read information as corrected image information whose rotational distortion is corrected. An image is formed by an image processing part 5 and an image forming means based upon the compensated information. Thus the rotational distortion of the image can be automatically compensated. |
