PURPOSE:To provide a KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion device capable of improving the accuracy of the conversion of a derivative in a dictionary with small capacity and efficiently obtaining the conversion result that a user intends. CONSTITUTION:An independent word dictionary 15 and an accessory dictionary 16 storing the KANJI/KANA inscription and grammar information corresponding to the readings for independent words, affixes and accessory words, a corresponding table 18 classifying the independent words from the viewpoint of the connection with the affixes and storing the classification items to which each independent word belongs and a connection table 19 storing the connection relation between the classification items and affixes are provided. This KANA/KANJI converter is a device retrieving a dictionary from inputted reading (a word retrieval part 9), detecting the classification item of the extracted independent word from the corresponding table, investigating the connection relation with the affix of the detected classification item from a connection table (an output decision part 11) and converting the inputted reading into a sentence mixed with KANA and KANJI. |
