POLYCARBONATE RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To improve moldability, transparency and rigidity by combining an aromatic polycarbonate resin, a specific thermoplastic polyester resin and a rubbery elastomeric polymer. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is prepared by mixing 1-30 pts.wt. rubbery polymer with a total of 100 pts.wt. mixture consisting of 95-5wt.% aromatic polycarbonate resin which may be branched and 5-95wt.% thermoplastic polyester resin which contains dicarboxylic acid residues of formulae I and II and glycol residues of formulae III and IV as essential constituent units, the molar ratio of the constituent units being formula I to formula II of 50:50 to 20:80 and formula III to formula IV of 80:20 to 50:50, the intrinsic viscosity (in a phenol/tetrachloroethane mixture with a volume ratio of 6:4) of the polyester resin being 0.5 to 1.5.
