An aircraft, such as a space probe, intended to descend by gravity into the atmosphere of a celestial body is equipped with at least one propeller (20a, 20b) which drives one or more high-frequency electrical alternators (22). In addition to contributing to stabilising and to braking the vehicle during its descent, the propellers also obtain electrical energy, available in real time, especially for powering items of equipment. Fine control of the probe in terms of speed and direction can be achieved, by acting on the pitch of the propellers (20a, 20b), on the inclination of their axis (Y, Y') and on the characteristics of at least one of the alternators (22). <IMAGE>
