PURPOSE:To produce a semicured thermosetting film without using any solvent vent from a resin obtd. by modifying a thermoplastic polyphenylene ether resin with a cyanate compd. CONSTITUTION:A mixture mainly comprising 90-60wt.% finely powdered polyphenylene ether resin having a number-average mol.wt. of 7,000-50,000, the maximum particle diameter of 80mum or lower, and a content of particles having diameters of 50mum or lower of 30wt.% or lower and 10-40wt.% cyanate compd. consisting of a cyanate resin monomer or a prereactional product thereof having a melt viscosity of 10 P or lower is melt mixed at 130-180 deg.C and formed at 130-200 deg.C into a film having a thickness of 10mum or higher, thereby giving the objective film in a semicured state. |
