PURPOSE:To prepare a polyethylene foam which is excellent in vacuum- formability, esp. in deep-drawability, while retaining the excellent flexibility, heat resistance, and cushioning properties inherent in conventional cross-linked polyethylene foam. CONSTITUTION:A polyethylene foam having a drawing ratio in vacuum forming of at least 0.85 is prepd. from a resin compsn. of which the resin component comprises 10-60 pts.wt. first resin component consisting of a linear low-density polyethylene produced by medium-to-low-pressure, method and 90-40 pts.wt. second resin component consisting of a polar ethylene copolymer alone or a mixture of 2-20wt.% the polar ethylene copolymer with 98-80wt.% branched low-density polyethylene produced by high-pressure, method and has a gel fraction of 46-60%. |
