PURPOSE:To easily register a word having conjugated form without the necessity of the knowledge of a grammar in a document preparing device provided with a dictionary for KANA (Japanese syllabary) and KANJI (Chinese character) conversion. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a conjugational suffix pattern storage part 17 in which the patterns of the conjugational suffix of a word having conjugational form are stored. When a word and a part of speech to be registered in a register dictionary 15 are designated, the patterns of the conjugational suffix corresponding to the part of speech of the word are retrieved from the conjugational suffix pattern storage part 17. By deleting the ending of the word designated based on these patterns of the conjugational suffix the only stem of the word is displayed on a display device 19. |
