PURPOSE:To obtain an accurate and rapid dispersal signal detector. CONSTITUTION:This dispersal signal detector having a means 21 for detecting the period of a dispersal signal from a received signal component and a delay means 22 for delaying an input signal only by a delay time corresponding to odd times (or even times) a half of the detected period and constituted so that signals whose phases are mutually inverted by the means 22 are mutually subtracted or signals having a time difference at the same phase through the means 22 are mutually added. Consequently a signal in which a dispersal signal component is emphasized and the influence of DC variation at the time of APL variation of a video signal is also removed can be obtained and the dispersal signal component can be detected by using the signal.
