PURPOSE:To obtain optimum timing for detecting the size of original with a simple constitution by detecting two kinds of timing for detecting the original size by means of a reflection type photosensor, by means of a timing detecting means. CONSTITUTION:When the releasing angle of an original cover 5 is psi>=psi1, a plate spring 7 is in contact with an electric conductor 6. When an operator opens the original cover 5 and the original is set on a contact glass 2, the level of 'H' is inputted to the input port of a CPU 10. After that, when the releasing angle psi of the original cover 5 becomes psi>=psi1, on the way of closing the original cover 2, the CPU 10 fetches the input data of the input port to which the output of the reflection type photosensor is inputted by the timing detecting means. When the releasing angle psi of the original cover 5 becomes psi>=psi2, the CPU 10 fetches the input data of the input port, again, by the timing detecting means, and processing for discriminating the original size is executed. |
